After receiving high praises during the first season, fans of "Mr. Robot" are now looking forward to know more about the show's offerings for its sophomore season.

"Mr. Robot" lead star Rami Malek told Variety that series creator Sam Esmail has warned him that his character Elliot Alderson will go through more challenges in season 2.

"One thing he told me, and I hope I'm at liberty to say this, is, 'You have to tell me if there's anything you're not okay with,'" the actor teased.. "He said, 'Just tell me if things are too hard on you, and I'll pull back.'"

Malek reportedly tried to finish filming the first season without having to ask Esmail to stop him during heavy scenes, but since season 2 will be much darker, they are planning to have someone help him out on set.

Esmail also teased a few details about the upcoming season in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"I think what I wanted ultimately was the experience coming into season 2 to be, 'Okay, now I've got everything.' In the feature-screenwriting world, [season 1] was the Act 1," Esmail said. "This is our setup, essentially, to sort of inform you, 'Here's what the series is going to be about.'"

Apart from what's to come, some behind-the-scenes details about the first season were also revealed.

Malek said that "Mr. Robot" worked with two real-life hackers to give them pointers for the show. He also said that the beauty of show lies in the interpretation of the series and real-life hacker attacks.

"Mr. Robot" season 2 is expected to premiere in fall 2016 on USA.
