Motorola Moto E3 release date, specs: Device rumored to launch August; Specs and design leaked

The Motorola Moto E3 has been a subject of leaks for a quite a while as it is expected to be released next month. Tech Droider appears to have acquired official images of the device.

Motorola actually lift the covers off the third-generation Moto E just last week in the United Kingdom. However, only a couple of press shots were shared for the event.

The publication, however, got its hands on some renders of the Motorola E3 as well as the official set of specs of the highly-anticipated device.

On the design front, the latest iteration of the Moto E sports a 5-inch full high-definition or HD display. It comes with the same design language as that of the Moto G4 clan, but there are a few changes here and there.

Those changes includes the thinner build compared to the Moto G4 Play. It is relatively less chunky with than the said device with only a thickness of 8.6mm. The Moto G4 Play is at 9.9 mm. Another tweak is that the speaker is now on the bottom of the Moto E3, relocated from the front.

It comes with an 8MP rear-facing shooter with LED flash, which is one of the welcome changes on the Motorola Moto E3, and a 5MP selfie snapper. The device becomes the first in its family to have such feature.

The Moto E3 also comes with a quad-core MediaTek chipset with 8GB of expandable storage to boot. There's no mention of the RAM, but it is expected to be offered in 1GB and 2GB.

On the software side of things, users are looking at Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed. LTE connectivity support can also be expected.

The Moto E3 will be available in the U.K. this August for £100. It should be around the same price range when it releases to the rest of the world presumably next month as well.
