A new leak suggests the Moto X 2017 will have a different name.

On Friday, reliable leakster Evan Blass revealed that the anticipated handset is named Moto X4. Motorola has yet to confirm this, so most media outlets still stick to the phone's default name. While Blass did not mention anything about the smartphone itself, another leak gives consumers an idea of what to expect from the upcoming device.

Baidu, a Chinese website, has featured a slideshow about the device, unveiling a complete list of its features and specifications. The Moto X 2017 is expected to have artificial intelligence (AI) integration, 3x carrier aggregation and QuickCharge support to allow turbo charging. In terms of design, the device has a full metal body covered in 3D glass, which gives it a high-end look. Making it a more practical choice for consumers is its IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

BGR points out that the Moto X 2017 will also have a dual-rear camera, a laser auto focus, and a dual-LED flash. The handset comes with a 5.5-inch display and will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 660 octa-core system on chip built on 10 nm process. Aside from its 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM, the Motorola flagship phone will house a 3800 mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication and added security.

No details about Moto Mods accessories are shown in the slides, but if rumors are to be believed, the new smartphone will have support for connecting pins on the back. It is believed that the Moto X 2017 will have twin 13 MP rear snappers, though the resolution of the front camera is not yet known. Whether Motorola will go for a standard + telephoto lens combination, or an RGB + monochrome sensor combination for its camera, also remains unclear. In an effort to keep pace with its smartphone rivals, the upcoming device is expected to run on the latest Android 7.1 Nougat.

The new Moto X flagship phone is expected to be unveiled this year. However, readers are advised to take all claims with a grain of salt since Motorola has not announced a release window yet.
