Moto G4 and G4 Plus release date rumor: Handsets to be launched on June 9

Moto G4 and G4 Plus release date rumors hint that the devices will be unveiled on June 9. Motorola

The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus will be officially launched on June 9, according to the latest report about the upcoming device, which has been leaked profusely in the past week.

According to GizmoChina, Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing revealed during the launch event for the new Zuk Z2 Pro that the upcoming Motorola offering will be released in an event scheduled on June 9.

Yuanqing did not go into detail about what the device will be or what to expect in the affair except that it will be "exciting." Nevertheless, media outlets believe that the Moto G4 and G4 Plus will be made official there.

The third generation Moto G was released July last year. Since the announcement is scheduled for June as per the report, it is very likely that the Moto G4 and G4 Plus will start shipping by July.

Prior to the much-awaited launch of the Moto G4 and G4 Plus, videos and images featuring the pair of smartphones are already bouncing around the internet.

The handsets are expected to sport a fingerprint scanner. Leaks show that this biometric sensor will be embedded on the home button, which, as part of the design changes, appear to no longer be slotted in between speaker grilles as how it was in previous iterations of the Moto G.

The camera, which will come with dual LED flash, will reportedly be revamped as well. Both the Moto G4 and G4 Plus are rumored to have a 5.5-inch display.

More details about the specs sheet should be revealed as June 9 approaches. After all, the leaks hint that Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are already standing by for their big entrance.

Moto G4 and G4 Plus are expected to be the first Motorola devices that come with the Lenovo branding. At the moment, Motorola's latest solo outing is the Moto X Force, which boasts what is described as a "shatterproof" display.
