Motorola is expected to unveil its latest budget-friendly smartphone from the Lenovo-owned tech firm's E-series. The 2017 Moto E4 handsets are well-received by the users, as it has been proven that having a cheaper device does not mean that the design and features of the handset should be compromised. According to the latest leak, this year's Moto E5 Plus will try to exceed everyone's expectations by sporting a premium appearance and specs, including 18:9 display and rear-positioned fingerprint reader.

The latest scoop about the Moto E5 came from the ever-reliable tech tipster, Evan Blass. In spite of the lack of information from the company, Blass posted the leaked image of the E5 Plus, revealing the new design of the budget smartphone. At first glance, one would easily compare the upcoming handset to Moto E4 Plus. However, it appears that the new E5 model will boast features that the user would feel like he owns a high-end smartphone. For one, the leaked Moto E5 Plus image shows a bigger and sleeker display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Othe recently-released handset also highlight the same tall appearance with reduced bezels and rounded edges.

The Moto E5 Plus is shown to have an almost full screen front view, due to slimmer bezels and the absence of a front-mounted fingerprint sensor. Instead, the biometric reader is now located at the rear portion of the smartphone. Perhaps an all-screen design would have been achieved by the E5 Plus, if not for the Motorola label printed at the bottom display.

Contrary to earlier rumors, the Moto E5 Plus leak shows only a single-lens rear camera instead of a dual setup. This is understandable, given that the E5 model is supposed to be a cheaper option for the users, and adding a dual-lens camera would bring the cost up. While it is not clearly indicated in the leaked image, the E5 Plus is expected to run the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update out of the box, although with some modifications to add Motorola's unique touch.

The Moto E5 Plus price is still up in the air, although it is not expected that the upcoming low-tier handset will cost much more than the $180 Moto E4 Plus.
