Players of "Mortal Kombat X" on PC were faced with a huge bug yesterday that deleted all their saved data while playing. But co-developer High Voltage Software announced that the issue, caused by a recent patch, has been fixed.

The patch that was released on May 5 initially aimed to fix all the bugs that were present in the newly released installment of the battle game on PC, but it erased all the players' saved data instead. Some of the angry fans asked for refunds or some kind of compensation because of it.

High Voltage immediately pulled out the patch temporarily until they find out the reason why the saved data were lost. The game developer addressed the problem and apologized to the players in a statement posted on Steam Community, saying:

We understand that some PC players lost their save data before we were able to correct an issue with the most recent patch. An updated patch was recently released to add Jason and all of the other patch improvements back into the game and no other players should experience save loss when installing the patch. We are truly sorry if the recent patch did cause you to lose your game save. Affected players should be hearing from us soon with details on how we are addressing the situation."

They also advised the players who have lost their saves because of the patch and have not received a notification from their team until Friday, May 8, to submit a help request to their Customer Service department by heading over to support.wbgames.com. They can simply select the "Ask for Help" tab in the menu located at the top of the page. Then they should select "Gameplay Help Request" as their Question Type then choose the "Save Game issue" as their Specific Question. Players also need to include their Steam Account Name when writing their help request description.
