It's official: Master Chief, Xbox's most well-known character, is now available in "Minecraft" on Nintendo Switch. Developer Mojang recently rolled out fresh content to the game in the form of skins based on Microsoft heavyweight franchises and among them is the popular "Halo" protagonist.

"Arriving on new versions of Minecraft and Nintendo Wii U and Switch editions is the exceedingly popular Skin Pack 1," Mojang's Marsh Davies confirmed in a blog post, adding, "The pack contains various feudal favorites from the Fable series - queens, kings, wizards and warriors - and a slew of heroes from across the world of gaming, like Master Chief, Banjo, Cole Train, 'Splosion Man and others."

In addition to these gaming world favorites, the characters from Disney's Moana are making their way to the game as well with the Moana Character Pack. It features Moana, her fellow Pacific Islanders, the shape-shifting demigod Maui, the gold-hoarding crab Tamatoa, coconut pirates, volcanic demons, and even Moana's dim-witted rooster, Heihei, and pet pig, Pua.

To celebrate their arrival, Mojang released a brand-new trailer that shows them in action against creepers, braving the open waters, and more. Check it out below:

Both the Moana Character Pack and Skin Pack 1 are now available on all of the Minecraft Better Together platforms. Those who are interested can head straight to the Marketplace right here. Fans should keep in mind, though, that the cross-play update introduced to the game last year is not quite ready for Nintendo Switch just yet. The same can be said of PS4, PS3, and Vita, although Microsoft is reportedly still interested in making Xbox One/PS4 cross-play happen.

Published by Microsoft, "Minecraft" is a block-building, adventure game that lets one explore randomly-generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. One can play in Creative Mode with unlimited resources or in Survival mode, crafting armor and weapons to fend off the dangerous mobs.
