Rumor has it that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be released soon and that it will give the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 a run for its money. Users can't help but compare the former to the latter, which has so far impressed the tech world.

Based on the Microsoft Surface Pro reports going around, the upcoming unit will boast a rechargeable stylus battery, which should solve one of the biggest woes users had with the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. A charging dock will be provided to make this possible.

More on the battery department, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is said to come with a heftier battery unit so as the keep the it running for longer hours. This will be good news to users, who are only able to use the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 for seven hours at most.

Microsoft is allegedly repositioning the fingerprint scanner in the Surface Pro 5. The software giant is said to be placing the sensor on the body of the device so that users will no longer need to bring the keyboard (the Surface Pro 4 had the scanner there) simply for unlocking the device alone.

Another design tweak on the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 that will help in the aspect of portability is the trimming down of its weight. Some users believe that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is a bit stocky so its successor could hopefully slim down a bit but still have greater power.

The Surface Pro 5 is expected to be released in the latter half of this year. Microsoft is yet to make it official, however. Interestingly, the company is offering a $100 discount on the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

For a short time, the Surface Dock was also offered gratis. The President's Day also saw the unit on a $150 discount.
