Surface Pro 4 vs iPad Pro specs: Comparing two upcoming tablets

The new year means that new gadgets and innovations are coming out, including a couple of tablet devices from two of the leading electronic brands in the world today.

One of the reported tablets that will be launched this year comes from Microsoft called the Surface Pro 4. The tablet will allegedly be the successor of the brand's widely successful Surface Pro 3, which was unveiled in 2014. The new device will apparently feature improved specs from last year's tablet release from the Redmond tech giant.

The other device that is rumored to be released sometime in 2015 comes from Apple Inc., which is speculated to be a larger version of the popular iPad line. Currently dubbed by enthusiasts as the iPad Pro or the iPad Plus, this device from the Cupertino-based electronics corporation will have a bigger display compared to its predecessors.

But which of these two rumored tablets expected to be released this year is worth the buyers' hard-earned money? Here is a comparison between the two devices:

Display and Dimension

MacRumors reported that the upcoming portable tablet from Apple will come with a 12.2-inch display, and it will only be 7 millimeters thick. This is a lot bigger compared to the iPad Air's screen display that only measures 9.7 inches.

On the other hand, Microsoft's future tablet device comes with a bigger 14-inch screen. Like the Surface Pro 3, it will also have a detachable keyboard which can turn the tablet into a laptop.

Under the Hood

Should the iPad Plus come into being this year, then it is expected to have an A8x processor, which is reportedly 55 percent faster than the A8 processor currently installed in the iPhone 6 handset. It will also be equipped with 2 GB RAM.

Meanwhile, speculators predict the Surface Pro 4 to come with 8 GB of RAM along with a powerful Intel Core M processor.

The release date and actual specs for the said tablet devices are still undisclosed as of the moment.
