While the world is still waiting for Microsoft to announce the release date of their new Surface Pro 4 hybrid device, the tech firm slashed down the prices for the two models of Surface Pro 3.

The i5 and i7 models of Microsoft Surface Pro 3 laptop/ tablet are now being sold with a $150 discount in Best Buy and the Microsoft Store. It means that the Surface Pro 3 Intel Core i5 with 128 GB storage and 4 GB of RAM can now be purchased for $899 instead of its original $999 price, while the Surface Pro 3 Intel Core i5 model with 128 GB storage and 8 GB of RAM is now only $1,399 instead of $1,549. Meanwhile, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Intel Core i7 model with 512 GB storage and 8 GB of RAM can now be purchased for only $1,799, instead of its original price of $1,949. 

Only the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Intel Core i3 model with 64 GB built-in storage has no price adjustment during the current sale period. 

Microsoft is also adding a free Surface Pro 3-compatible sleeve for every purchase until Oct. 1.

Consumers can make their Surface Pro 3 purchases until June 27, which makes it one of the most ideal Father's Day gifts, since the event will fall on June 21. 

The $150 savings that consumers will enjoy can be used to purchase the Type Cover keyboard to make the device function as a laptop. This accessory is priced at $129.99. They can also purchase the Surface Pro 3 docking station with two USB 2.0 ports, three USB 3.0 ports, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a Gigabit Ethernet port, a Mini DisplayPort as well as a security lock for an additional $199.99. 

Speculations claim that Microsoft is reducing the price of the Surface Pro 3 in preparation for the release of the newest device in the Surface Pro line called the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 expected later this year.
