Microsoft seems to be releasing a new Lumia 635 smartphone with 1 GB of RAM in the coming days, if the leaked reports turn out to be accurate.

The Lumia 635 was initially released with just 512 MB, but with the launch of the Windows 10 mobile operating system happening sometime soon, coming up with a bigger RAM capacity for the mid-range smartphone device might be necessary in order to open several Windows Phone apps.

Windows Central broke the news over the weekend after Hungarian network provider Telenor included a Lumia 635 with 1 GB RAM in its roster of featured phones. Based on the listing, most of the specs of the original mid-range Lumia smartphone are mentioned except for the a different RAM capacity, which makes gadget watchers think that a new Lumia 635 might be in the works. It could be released prior to the rollout of the new mobile operating system from Windows.

Aside from Telenor, GSM Arena also reported other network carriers that will allegedly offer an updated Lumia 635 model, including the multinational Telekom network, Latin America's Movistar, TIM network provider, Canada's Wind Mobile, as well as other network service providers.

If the rumors will turn out to be true, the upgraded Lumia 635 will retain its original features such as the 4.5-inch display that has 480 x 854 pixel resolution, a quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor paired with an Adreno 305 graphics card, as well as a singular 5-megapixel rear-end camera. Currently, the device runs with the Windows Phone 8.1 mobile software.

However, Microsoft is still silent about the validity of the leaked reports.

There have been several instances when network carriers mislabeled some of the devices posted in their websites, that is why there is still a possibility that the leaked reports could be inaccurate. However, if the improved Lumia 635 with 1 GB RAM is real, then Microsoft might be announcing the release of the device during the 2015 Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona on March 2.
