Can scent really affect someone's sexual desire?
The next episode of "Masters of Sex" aims to provide the answer to that question, and a star from "The Good Wife" will help Bill Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) in their study on human sexuality.
In the clip for the episode titled "Excitement of Release," Josh Charles from "The Good Wife" appears as the perfumier named Daniel Logan. The perfume maker is seen talking to Bill and Virginia as he discusses what he believes is the perfect scent of desire. This seems to spark a great deal of interest in the researchers since they can use it to learn more about human's perception of sex.
Meanwhile, the episode synopsis basically mentions that Bill and Virginia attempt to capitalize on their growing fame. With the surprising success of their highly controversial study that was considered taboo during the 1950s up to 1960s, the researchers could use anything to help them further.
CarterMatt also mentioned that Bill's relationship with his wife Libby (Caitlin Fitzgerald) will also be tackled in the episode. Libby is already furious with the gap between them because of the extensive time he spends on his work and Virginia. Being in the limelight because of his research will further keep him away from her and their family. Will his newfound fame cause their already rocky marriage to finally crumble?
Meanwhile, the repercussions of Virginia's decision to keep her marriage with George (Mather Zickel) for the sake of the baby will also be discussed in "Masters of Sex" season 3. Bill already expressed his concerns regarding the effect of the baby on their research, but Virginia assures him that the child will not get in the way of her work.
But while Bill is obviously distraught because of Virginia's current situation, Libby is delighted to see her husband's research partner getting back with the father of her children.
"Masters of Sex" season 3 episode 3 is slated to air on Sunday, July 26, on Showtime.
