Netflix surprised comic book fans by showcasing the first trailer of "Marvel's Luke Cage" in between the episodes of "Daredevil" season 2.

Portrayed by Mike Colter, Luke Cage first appeared in the 2015 TV adaptation of "Marvel's Jessica Jones" as the bar owner who suddenly acquired superhuman strength and ability to dodge bullets because of his unbreakable skin.

In the sneak peek released by Netflix, Cage is seen letting armed men shoot him without flinching. But since the bullets cannot penetrate his body, the superhero will not get hurt. Cage seems to be more concerned about his wardrobe instead of being afraid for his life.

"I'm about sick of always having to buy new clothes," the superhero says in the trailer.

The entertainment streaming provider will start broadcasting the episodes of "Marvel's Luke Cage" on Sept. 30. In an interview with Comic Book Resources, the lead star of the show said that the series will be filled with a lot of exciting scenes.

"It's going to be action-packed, from beginning to the very end. Trust me. 'Daredevil' premieres March 18, and I will see the fans on September 30th," Colter told the publication during the red-carpet premiere of "Daredevil" season 2.

The plot for Netflix's new original series was released by Marvel, which reads:

"After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city -- forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury."

Colter will be joined by "Daredevil" star Rosario Dawson, who will reprise her role as Claire Temple in the series. Other cast members include "Sons of Anarchy" alum Theo Rossi as Shades, "Desperate Housewives" actor Alfre Woodard as Black Mariah, "Ray Donovan" star Simone Missick as Misty Knight and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" star Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth.

Other cast members include Sonia Braga from "Brothers & Sisters" as Soledad Temple and "Gotham" actor Frank Whaley as Detective Scarfe.
