'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD' season 2 spoilers: Coulson's leadership to fall into Gonzales' hands in episode 16?

A new episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is slated to air this week, which means that a brand new adventure awaits the agents of Coulson's organization.

The official synopsis for the episode titled "Afterlife" reads:

"As Robert Gonzales (guest star Edward James Olmos) makes his move, Coulson (Clark Gregg) must do whatever it takes to protect the future of S.H.I.E.L.D. Meanwhile Skye's (Chloe Bennet) journey to control her powers takes a surprising turn when she meets the enigmatic Inhuman named Lincoln (guest star Luke Mitchell)."

The teaser video for the episode also shows Gonzales' main goals on why he is plotting to take over the control of S.H.I.E.L.D. from Coulson's leadership. Although he is not as vicious as the leaders of Hydra, the agent of the original S.H.I.E.L.D. is still somebody that the entire agency should look out for because he wants things done according to his own way.

Viewers of the show will also see that Mack (Henry Simmons) and Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) are already recruited by Gonzales in his cause. But will the two agents finally realize that they are fighting for the enemy before it's too late?

Meanwhile, Skye will be seen having a hard time adjusting to her new surroundings. Reports claim that she decides to go with Gordon (Jamie Harris) after Bobbi and her group try to assassinate her. Gordon claims that he could bring her to a location where she could control her newfound power with other inhumans like her. This is probably where she and Lincoln will meet.

Other "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." cast members includes Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, as well as Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 2 episode 16 is slated to air on Tuesday, April 7, on ABC.
