A shocking twist was revealed in the previous episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3, and its effects will be felt in the episode titled "Chaos Theory," which will be shown next week.
After the team found out that one of their closest allies and Agent Melinda May's (Ming-Na Wen) ex-husband Dr. Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood) is actually the Inhuman named Lash who was killing other Inhumans, the rest of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents will have to find ways to deal with the repercussions of the betrayal inside the agency.
The promo video for the upcoming episode shows May and Garner's happy days as a married couple. It also reminds the viewers that most of the agents trust the psychologist, who has an access to the files of Inhumans at S.H.I.E.L.D. But because of the latest revelations, could the agents distinguish Garner's persona and his evil Inhuman alter ego?
The trailer shows Garner's transformation as a regular human to become the ruthless Lash who kills other Inhumans whom he thinks are unworthy. He is also seen pointing a gun at his ex-wife when May confronts him.
Meanwhile, the rest of the agents will do everything that they can to protect the Inhumans from further harm. Based on the synopsis for the episode, the team's efforts to secure the well-being of the Inhumans will be led by another Inhuman agent, Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet).
The official synopsis for the episode reads:
"As Agent Daisy Johnson and the team fight to protect Inhumans, S.H.I.E.L.D. discovers the shocking truth about one of their biggest foes. Meanwhile, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) helps Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) recover information that could lead them back through the portal."
The synopsis also reveals the efforts of Fitz and Simmons to return to Earth. But as they dig deeper into the new information they obtained, it seems like they might have to stay outside the portal for the time being.
"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 episode 7 airs on Tuesday, Nov. 10, on ABC.
