Work problems creep up on Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni) while she is doing her motherly duties in the next episode of "Madam Secretary" season 2.
According to the synopsis for the episode titled "Higher Learning," the U.S. Secretary of State will join her daughter Alison (Kathrine Herzer) during her campus tour. But instead of focusing on her daughter's needs, Elizabeth will have to act fast to get out of an unwanted situation when she is caught up with by a group of protestors who oppose the Chilean mining operation that involves both the U.S. and the Chilean governments.
Meanwhile, the episode will also center on the continuous efforts to track down Hijriyah, the third wife of Hizb al-Shahid's mysterious leader, Jibral Disah (Bobak Bakhtiari).
During the previous episode, it was revealed that Hijriyah is the daughter of a warlord named Idris Al Bouri, who made a pact with Disah. But it seems like out of all Disah's wives, Hijriyah appears to be the closest to him because he made sure that their relationship was kept as a secret.
Because of this information, Elizabeth's husband Henry McCord (Tim Daly) and the DIA will do everything that they can to find out where Hijriyah is to finally capture the leader of the group behind the U.S. bombing. To be able to do this, Henry must work with the DIA head Jane Fellows (Jill Hennessy) and colleague Jose Campos (Carlos Gomez).
Meanwhile, during an interview with TV Guide, Daly talked about how his character Henry will deal with working with his own wife at the State Department.
According to the actor, the dynamics between Henry and Elizabeth will have a major change since they will get to spend more time talking with each other. But Daly believes that working closely will not affect the relationship between the couple.
"My feeling about them is that they are so strongly committed to each other and love each other so deeply that none of the noise will deeply damage their relationship," Daly stated.
"Madam Secretary" season 2 episode 17 airs on March 20, on CBS.
