MacBook Pro 2018 release date, specs update news: To feature improvement in keyboard design, upgrade to six-core Intel chipset

The rumors are rife that Apple is about to drop the 2018 version of the MacBook Pro in the coming months. The high-end MacBook model has yet to receive a major overhaul in years, except for a few design revisions and additional features in 2016. This time around, the new MacBook Pro is expected to receive the necessary improvements over the previous hardware, including a dust and crumb-resistant keyboard and a more powerful processor.

As reported by MacWorld UK, Apple could use the upcoming MacBook Pro 2018 as an opportunity to address all the issues raised by the users regarding the flaws of the pro-level laptop. For one, some people have been complaining about the keyboard buttons being stuck after pressing, which has something to do with too much accumulation of dust particles under the keyboard panel. With this, the MacBook Pro 2018 is tipped to sport a new and improved Butterfly keyboard technology, which will prevent tiny particles from penetrating under the keys.

Another possible highlight of the MacBook Pro 2018 is the introduction of a more powerful, six-core processor. It was claimed that the new batch of MacBook laptops to be released this year would use the latest Intel i9 six-core chips, giving the hardware faster and more stable performance. However, the powerful six-core processors are only expected to be in the 15-inch Mac Pro variant.

The MacBook Pro 2018 is expected to be announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2018 on June 4. The upcoming event at the Cupertino-based tech giant's heardquarters in California will feature all the new technologies from Apple this year.

However, Apple's senior director of MacBook product marketing, Tom Boger, mentioned in an interview with Tech Crunch that the new MacBook Pro may not arrive this year. Instead, the upgraded Mac Pro will be presented sometime in 2019.

"We want to be transparent and communicate openly with our pro community so we want them to know that the Mac Pro is a 2019 product. It's not something for this year," Boger said in the interview. Still, there is a possibility that the new MacBook Pro will be announced much earlier, unless Apple officially confirms it.
