Apple will center around gadgets that are "self-reliant" with the company's technology, meaning that they will be using chips designed by the company as well.
Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc., has since focused on making components exclusive to Apple as well. This outlook may be beneficial in the long run, especially since Apple will not have to deal with third-party mistakes in their software.
Tech giants Microsoft and Apple, for example, have both been burdened by Intel's latest blunders with their software, particularly the Meltdown and Spectre patch. Ultimately, Microsoft and Apple handled the problems themselves, costing both companies due to the mistake of another.
One of the latest MacBook Pro is a great example of this burgeoning self-reliance by the company. It uses a T1 chip, which is responsible for powering the Touch Bar feature.
Although impressive, still needs a lot of work. For example, speculations on the new Apple chip for the MacBook Pro suggest that it could handle "simple tasks" such as system updates while the laptop is asleep. Changing the T1 chip could also allow the hardware to "significantly" reduce battery consumption.
This would even be better news for potential buyers of the 2018 MacBook Pro. Should Apple push with this agenda, buyers can expect a better and smoother hardware. Should problems similar to the Spectre patch arise, at least the company would be able to handle it easily.
Besides the continued development of the processor, not much is expected to change from the MacBook Pro. However, those who bought previous models can expect an improvement from the many complaints filed before. One of these includes the screen resolution.
Unlike tech companies Dell, Asus, and HP, Apple has yet to offer a 4K display setting. The 2018 product might finally have this technology, which would bode well since Apple is lagging behind.
The MacBook Pro's release date for 2018 is relatively unknown at this point, although the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference this June should give more details on the upcoming product.
