MacBook Pro 2016 release date rumors: Thinner, lightweight laptop to be showcased at WWDC

The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be unveiled next month. Apple

The upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 is going to be a big one. Not only is it expected to churn out the Apple Watch 2, it is also believed to be the venue for the unveiling of the MacBook Pro 2016.

The long-rumored MacBook Pro iteration is expected to be released next month. This is reportedly why Microsoft is also releasing the Surface Book 2 this June..

According to reports, Apple does not plan on eclipsing the release of the second batch of products it prepared for the latter half of the year with the MacBook Pro 2016, which is reportedly why it opted for a June release date. By following this schedule, it can have the public's attention all to the device and successfully carry this interest come September, when the iPhone 7 family comes to the fold.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be powered by Intel Skylake, the same processor that runs under the hood of the latest MacBook that Apple released last month.

With this chipset, the MacBook Pro 2016 should boast greater power and enhanced performance. It will also be faster and lag-free. Since the Skylake only operates with minimal power, battery life should last longer as well.

An extreme design overhaul is also expected on the MacBook Pro 2016, which is expected to sport LED backlighting. This technology presents a lot of features for Apple to take advantage of.

First, it will ultimately make the new MacBook Pro look sleeker, slimmer and lighter. This technology will also help preserve the energy and juice of the device.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is also said to come with the improved butterfly key mechanism on the 12-inch MacBook released last month. It will also have larger keys for more efficient and comfortable typing.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to see the light of day next month at WWDC, which will be held from June 13 to 17.
