'Love & Hip Hop' season 6 updates: Erica Mena believes friend Remy Ma and Papoose could help save franchise

Erica Mena feels that her friend Remy Ma and husband Papoose could help salvage "Love & Hip Hop." The former cast member of VH1's hit reality series recently told Global Grind that her long-time friend could keep the show afloat.

"Yeah. I think there's a little bit of hope for the Love & Hip-Hop the franchise now that Remy's part of it, and Papoose. She's going to be the reason why Love & Hip-Hop: New York is actually still on the air," Mena said.

Remy Ma and Papoose announced early last month that they will join the cast of "LHH" season 6. The couple was married in May 2008 while the award-winning female rapper was still incarcerated for shooting a woman who allegedly stole money from her.

Mena announced that she was quitting the show before the fifth season ended to concentrate on her upcoming wedding with rapper-actor beau Shad "Bow Wow" Moss. While she admitted that she still has not offered any advice to her friend regarding her upcoming "Love & Hip Hop" appearance because of her hectic schedule, she said that she only has one piece of advice for Rema Ma.

"I would tell her to make sure that nobody behind the scenes gets in between her and her marriage," the former reality show star said.

But it seems like her friend's husband already knows what to do to avoid straining their relationship due to all the reality show drama that "Love & Hip Hop" is known for.

In an interview with VladTV, the "Alphabetical Slaughter" rapper said: "Our marriage is very solid... very secure. There's nothing that could put a strain on us. This is for real. This ain't fake. This ain't for the cameras, or just because. This is a real thing, so when something is authentic you can't really penetrate that. You can't penetrate steel with wood, you know what I'm talking about?"

Perhaps Papoose's history of fidelity to his wife while she was still incarcerated could prove Mena's claims that the new "Love & Hip Hop" couple could help viewers believe that there is real love in the series.
