Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors 2016: DeMarcus Cousins leaving the Kings for L.A.?

The latest Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors 2016 are hinting that Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins. It all started with a tweet he sent out recently.

When he was asked who his favorite team was, he revealed that he loved the Lakers growing up. His revelation had fans hoping that the talented power forward could play for L.A. soon.

Of course, the tweet is no more than the player's declaration for his love for the Lakers, but in reality, it is believed that Cousins will be a great addition to the team.

The Lakers are in a rebuilding process following the exit of their superstar player Kobe Bryant. The team has managed to reinforce its lineup with a slew of young stars namely Jordan Clarkson, D'Angelo Russell and Brandon Ingram.

However, Pabaon says Cousins will be most useful to Luol Deng and Timofey Mozgov. Cousins will surely fit right in with Los Angeles, but the Lakers will need trade assets that will convince the Kings to let go of one of its key players.

Sportsrageous says that they might have to trade Ingram, Clarkson or Russell to get Cousins to the team. That being said, Lakers will have to bring out the big guns if it is determined to add the superstar to its roster.

Cousins signed a deal with the Kings up to 2018 for $65 million. It will be up to him if he continues to play for Sacramento or another team.

Fans of his are already counting on Cousins to move to the Lakers following his revelation to make his dream come true. For now, however, it looks like he is not going anywhere.

The Kings are not looking to lose one more of its precious members, especially with the possibility of Rudy Gay packing his backs and moving out.

That being said, should the Lakers ever plan to bring Cousins to the fold, they might have to wait until 2018.
