The sequel to the popular "Lords of the Fallen" action role-playing video game is expected to come out in 2017, but it will come without the original game developer Deck13 Interactive on board. CI Games boss Marek Tyminski told Eurogamer that the German game studio will not be involved in the upcoming "Lords of the Fallen 2."

"We are not working with Deck 13 right now," Tyminski confirmed. "We are starting the project, we start from the concepting, but we definitely will be working with a lot of partners."

Despite Deck13's departure from the project, the CI Games CEO said that everything is doing well for the game.

"We are over 900,000 units. Not yet 1m but we are approaching that. And definitely it's a good start for the new IP. Definitely we can say that Lords of the Fallen 1 proved the IP made sense," he shared.

Tyminski remained silent about the reason why Deck13 chose not to work on the sequel, saying that it's very confidential. He just mentioned that the game studio is currently working on a new project with Focus Home Interactive, and the game will be revealed during the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015.

But while Tyminski mentioned that "Lords of the Fallen 2" is slated to be released in 2017, he said that he should not discuss the actual release date this early.

"We learnt not to say about the release date too early, so we will only be announcing the release date of each particular game when we will be close enough and we will be sure the game will be on time," the CEO of the Polish game development company shared.

"Lords of the Fallen 2" was announced by the game's executive producer Tomasz Gop in December last year, but the details about the game was announced just recently.
