Deaths of major characters are speculated to happen when "Longmire" returns to Netflix for season 5.

Reports claim that Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) and his deputy and rumored love interest Vic Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) will finally find themselves in a romantic relationship. While rumors about a wedding between the two are being talked about online, there are also talks claiming that the wedding will end in a bloody disaster.

According to speculations, the sheriff will end his relationship with Dr. Donna Monaghan (Ally Walker) whom he met in season 4 to finally pursue his longtime partner Vic. This actually happened in the original "Walt Longmire Mysteries" novels written by Craig Johnson, where the Western-inspired police procedural series is based on.

If the series will stay faithful to the books, it could mean that Longmire and Vic will die in a car crash soon after their wedding. This could start a new theme for the series that will investigate the death of the characters if Netflix will pick up the series for another season.

However, the entertainment streaming service provider has yet to announce if there could still be another season of "Longmire" after season 5.

The series had been cancelled by its original network A&E after the end of season 3 in 2014, but the show's loyal fanbase requested Warner Bros. Television to look for another network to air more seasons. Netflix heeded the call and initially released the fourth season before ordering an additional season 5 in 2015.

Aside from Taylor and Sackhoff, other cast members will return for "Longmire" season 5 such as Lou Diamond Phillips, who will reprise his role as Longmire's trusted friend Henry Standing Bear and Cassidy Freeman as Longmire's daughter Cady.

"Longmire" season 5 will premiere on Netflix beginning on Sept. 23.

Deaths of major characters are speculated to happen when "Longmire" returns to Netflix for season 5.
