"Big Little Lies" star Reese Witherspoon and "Scandal's" Kerry Washington are set to start another wildfire on television screens as a tandem in the TV adaptation of best-selling author Celeste Ng's "Little Fires Everywhere."

According to reports, two of TV's most-sought-after actors in the form of Witherspoon and Washington are going to be teaming up in the limited TV series run of Ng's 2017 best-selling book "Little Fires Everywhere."

The planned TV adaptation, which comes from Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine media company in collaboration with Washington's Simpson Street and ABC Signature Studios, is now in the middle of multiple offers and deals from companies and streaming services that want in on the yet-to-be released program.

Liz Tigelaar, most notable for her works in the Hulu series "Casual," has been named as the primary responsible for penning the script and directing the upcoming show. Tigelaar will also be serving as a producer, while Witherspoon and Washington will take on roles of executive producers for the limited series.

Ng's book, which is set in her hometown Shaker Heights in the 90s, will tell the story of a single mother and her daughter, who recently moved in the quiet upscale Ohio town, getting dragged in the ongoing custody battle that centers on a Chinese-American baby.

Despite this reveal, no confirmations regarding the release date of the TV adaptation have been shared nor are there any leads that point toward which platform it will be broadcasted on.

After "Scandal," the "Little Fires Everywhere" TV series will be Washington's first project. The highly-acclaimed television series will see the end of its seventh and last season this coming April. The ABC show also paved the way for Washington to be nominated for an Emmy award in 2013 -- a first in 18 years for any African-American actor.

Meanwhile, Witherspoon will be reprising her role in the HBO hit "Big Little Lies," which she co-stars with Nicole Kidman. She will also be starring alongside Jennifer Aniston in a new morning TV drama show for Apple.
