The widely successful black and white indie puzzle-platform game "Limbo," first released on Xbox 360 in 2010 through the Xbox Live Store, will now be released in a PlayStation 4 edition based on the latest board listing.
Playdead's widely popular game got a high score in the latest PEGI rating that came up during the first day of the year, yet there are no reports yet about the release date of the game in its new console version.
PEGI is considered as Europe's equivalent of North America's Entertaining Software Rating Board. The ratings board finds the game as suitable for players aged 16 years and above since it contains "realistic looking violence." However, the PEGI listing seems to be somewhat incorrect, since the highly anticipated game is still not available in the Sony-manufactured gaming console.
Limbo is a widely played puzzle-platform video game that is presented using black-and-white tones. It is known for incorporating lighting and film grain effects with minimum ambient sounds to give it a highly eerie feel that most horror games possess.
The game's major character is a boy without a name who suddenly wakes up in the middle of a large forest located at the "edge of hell." The boy is looking for his missing sister, but instead encounters several humans who either die, attach, or run away from him. He also meets a female character who disappears as fast as she can before he can even reach her. Then the forest suddenly paves the way to a dilapidated city.
Aside from the Xbox One, the Danish-developed game was also reanimated for launch on other platforms like the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Steam and iOS editions. In the later part of 2014, "Limbo" was also launched in the Xbox One platform.
"Limbo's" game developer Playdead will also release another 2D game called "Inside," which will roll out by the end of 2015.
