LG is one of the expected participants of the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC). However, the South Korean tech firm will not use the MWC stage to launch a brand-new flagship phone. Instead, the company will introduce a new version of its 2017 premium handset, the LG V30. Consistent with the earlier rumors, LG has finally announced that the new LG V30 variant will boast an AI-powered camera.

As reported by Engadget, LG is set to launch a new V30 variant this month. Its design may not be too different from the original LG V30, although the smartphone will be packed with an artificial intelligence (AI) feature called the Vision AI, making the camera smarter and more user-friendly. The Vision AI has the capability to identify every object that the camera lens is pointing at. Through AI, the phone will run an analysis on the subject, suggesting the most suitable shooting mode for it. The available shooting modes include food, pet, landscape, portrait, city, sunrise, sunset and flower.

Interestingly, the LG V30 2018's Vision AI is powerful enough to read the object's angle and color. It can also take the reflection of other objects in the surroundings, and it can balance the lighting and saturation levels automatically in order to come up with the best image quality. To add, the Visual AI can analyze the brightness of an already existing photo in the phone storage, and it can brighten some portions of that image if captured in low-light environment.

Aside from photo capturing, the Vision AI can help the LG V30 2018 users in shopping. The camera can be used to search for an item using a picture, or scan QR codes of certain products. There is also the Voice AI, which will give the user an array of voice commands that the phone can recognize and follow, 9to5Google reported.

The full features of the LG V30 2018 will be showcased at the MWC event, which will start on Feb. 26.
