LG to compete with Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with hybrid laptop-tablet device

It seems like Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 will be having a competitor soon as reports begin to circulate online about LG Electronics' development of a hybrid laptop-tablet product.

According to reports, LG will come up with a new "productivity-tablet" that has a detachable keyboard just like the Surface Pro 3 by Microsoft. It will also be equipped with Intel's fourth-generation core processor and could come with a Solid State Drive (SSD) for longer battery life and better portability.

There are also reports saying that the South Korean electronics company is thinking about adding a soft touchpad on the device's keyboard, which could be beneficial to those who will consider buying it.

This will not be the first time that LG will launch a hybrid computer product. Back in February 2013, the company released the 11.6-inch hybrid Tab-Book PC that runs using the Windows 8.1 operating system. The device features a slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard placed underneath the touchscreen that only appears when the user pushes a button located at the side panel of the Tab-Book.

The Tab-Book was launched in selected countries around the world, but the dismal response of the market resulted to LG's decision to not release the product commercially around the world.

Currently, the Surface Pro 3 is getting positive response from the market. The next-generation Surface Pro product comes slightly lighter and thinner compared to its predecessor. The 12-inch device also comes with a fourth-generation Intel Core processor and is equipped with bright touchscreen display and runs using the latest Windows 8.1 operating system. Gadget analysts believe that Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is the best hybrid computer product to date and the sales of this device is expected to rise sharply in the coming days.

If LG will really come up with a device that could give the Surface Pro 3 a run for its money, then people can have more options when buying hybrid laptop/tablet products in the market.
