'Legends of Tomorrow' season 2 spoilers: 'different' show and 'The Flash/Arrow/Supergirl' crossover teased

There are a lot of comic book characters joining the Waverider crew in "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2. The CW

When "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 hits the big screen, fans who watched the freshman run will feel like they're watching a new show.

The spinoff will follow the format of its parent shows "The Flash" and "Arrow." Since the first season was all about stopping Vandal Savage, "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will see the Waverider crew take on an assortment of baddies.

"We have a couple smaller villains that come in," Brandon Routh, who plays Ray aka ATOM, told DC All Access, which media outlets think will be good for "Legends of Tomorrow."

"There'll be a season-long nemesis, but he'll come and go throughout the season, so we don't always have to be focused solely on that," the actor continued.

That being said, "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will have the motley crew of time-travelling heroes pre-occupied with more than just one bad guy.

Cinema Blend believes that the spinoff suffered by keepings its focus on Vandal Savage's troublemaking when the show has a whole fabric of time and space's worth of villains that can keep the team busy once in a while.

With a variety of villains set to come and go in "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2, Caity Lotz, who plays the role of Sara Lance aka White Canary, expects the show to be "different."

"There really is gonna be a big shakeup of everything for season 2," the actress revealed, referring to Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) and Hawkman's (Falk Hentschel) exit after finally defeating the man that terrorized them for thousands of years.

"It's gonna be a little bit of a different show, which I'm excited to see where they're gonna go with it," Lotz went on to say. The star is also excited for possible crossover events with "Arrow," "The Flash" and even "Supergirl."

"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will introduce the Justice League of America and new adversaries that will be far more difficult to deal with.

"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 is set to premiere this fall.
