'Left 4 Dead 3' release date: Debunking rumors

Reports about the release announcement of "Left 4 Dead 3" at the EGX 2014 are currently surfacing online, but none of it had been confirmed as of the moment.

One of the sources of the news is so-called Cyberland, saying that the release date of the third installment of the "Left 4 Dead" series will be announced alongside the announcement of "Half Life 3" at the 2014 EGX.

However, Air Herald pointed out that the circulating news about the developments on the "Left 4 Dead" series are purely speculations. There is little known fact about L4D 3, and some of it is not about the game's release date.

One of the confirmed news about "Left 4 Dead" is the departure of game creator Turtle Rock Studios from Valve. This made a significant delay on the release of the much awaited first-person zombie survival shooter game. According to reports, Turtle Rock is concentrating on a new game called "Evolve," making it less capable of coming up with a new L4D.

"Evolve" had been the pet project of Turtle Rock from the start, and creating "Left 4 Dead" forced the studio to shelf their original concept for a while. That is why they decided to leave Valve in order to focus on their own game.

However, "Left 4 Dead" fans should not despair. According to its official website, Source Filmmaker will be releasing a L4D Content Pack as one of its newest DLC. The downloadable content will feature all the original props of the game, as well as all the eight survivors and all the infected creatures in "Left 4 Dead 2." Users of the new Left 4 Dead DLC will also have the chance to compose their own soundtrack for the game.

So whether a new "Left 4 Dead" installment will come out soon, or it will be released at a much later time, game fans just have to wait for more confirmation from Valve itself.
