LA Clippers trade rumors 2016: Blake Griffin sticking with team; Rudy Gay to be next addition?

In the Los Angeles Clippers trade rumor mill, it is being said that Blake Griffin is headed to the Boston Celtics. Clippers coach and president Doc Rivers doused these rumors on a Vertical Podcast.

"No team is calling right now, because teams know we don't have any interest," Rivers said. He admitted that he and Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge talked twice over the summer, but nothing concrete came out of those talks.

Rivers also made an appearance at "Celtics @ 7," where he said that its star player is not going anywhere. However, radio analyst Cedric Maxwell and host Adam Kaufman do not believe Rivers is telling the truth.

With Griffin to be free from his contract with the Clippers next year, there are a lot of talks about him changing teams. Boston was always the name associated with trade rumors.

However, Rivers hopes that the Clippers trade rumors about Griffin's exit, which he insists won't happen, will subside. He also emphasized that he wants to keep the team's power forward intact.

The same goes for Chris Paul, who is reportedly being eyed by Miami Heat head coach Pat Riley. Paul's contract will end the same year Griffin's expires and he has been a target of some teams.

However, Paul is rumored to cut loose from his Clippers ahead of its expiration and that the Bulls want to be the point guard's landing spot.

Chicago is reportedly prepared to trade off Goran Dragic for Paul. The team is reportedly pursuing him because the Clippers are not expected to give up Griffin.

Meanwhile, apart from the talks of Griffin and Paul leaving Los Angeles, there are also trade rumors about Rudy Gay of Sacramento King and how he could be the latest member of the Clippers soon.

Gay has openly talked about being unhappy with his current team. He talked it out with his coach Vlade Divac, although it looks like there are more conversations to be had.

"I can't say since Monday stuff has changed, but I just feel like we have a little bit of time to start changing things," Gay told ABC 10. Should he pack his bags soon, the Clippers are allegedly willing to bring him in.
