"Kim Possible" is one of those Disney cartoon shows that many millennials have grown up with regardless of gender. There also have been a couple of "Kim Possible" animated movies created more than a decade ago. Although seemingly quite late, reports have been spreading recently about a live-action "Kim Possible" and it looks like Disney Channel and the show's creators have already started with pre-production.

According to Variety, the production team is now looking for actors and actresses to be cast as the "Kim Possible" characters — the titular hero Kim Possible, her sidekick Ron Stoppable, computer genius Wade and maybe even Ron's naked mole-rat, Rufus. The story will still stay true as much as possible to that of the original cartoon show.

It is assuring to know that the show's creator Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley will be writing the script alongside Josh Cagan who has also written for other Disney shows. McCorckle and Schooley will also be the film's executive producers together with Zanne Devine. Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky are on board as co-directors and co-producers.

The animated Disney series "Kim Possible" first ran almost a decade and a half ago, back in 2002. It has a total of 87 episodes and two movies: "Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama" and "Kim Possible: A Stitch in Time." The show was a success, even receiving an Emmy nomination for outstanding animated program.

Those who have been following their favorite Disney shows and movies would know that this is not the first live-action movie that has been announced to be in the works. Both "Mulan" and "Aladdin" are also each getting a live-action remake. The former will come to theaters by 2019 while the latter is coming later this year, 2018.

As for now, the live-action "Kim Possible" movie does not have an official title yet, let alone an official release window. Nevertheless, at least it would be like "The Incredibles 2" where most of the fans are grown-ups now.
