Lots of things are in store for Microsoft's fighting video game "Killer Instinct," as a set of new alternative costumes and a new trailer featuring Riptor are set to be released this week.

The trailer that highlights Riptor, the game's fighting dinosaur, will launch on Monday, one month before its formal release.

Riptor is a Cybernetic Raptor that contains both human and reptilian DNA conceptualized by Ultratech. The character first appeared when the game was released last year. It will reappear once the "Killer Instinct" 2.2 update for Xbox One is released on Jan. 1.

Almost all features of Riptor remains the same except for the character's upperclaw attack which is now called the clever girl.

The "Killer Instinct" 2.2 update also reportedly includes: the Hatchery 09 stage for Riptor; an enhanced story mode; dossiers made for all characters introduced in season 1; better speed for the character and stage loading time; brand new character select screen silhouettes and icons; as well as retro costume set for TJ.

Players need to set aside at least 10 GB of storage space in order to get the update so that they can re-download the enhanced version of the content packages.

Aside from the trailer, Microsoft will also release three new Christmas-inspired costumes made for Sabrewulf, Orchid, as well as TJ Combo. Orchid's new holiday-themed wardrobe will be available for those who own the character, while the Christmas wardrobe of Sabrewulf can be accessed by gamers who have the Season 1 Ultra Edition. Players need to use their accumulated cash in order to get these wardrobes. TJ Combo's Santa costume, on the other hand, can be obtained if they own the Season 2 Ultra Edition.

The gameplay video featuring Riptor is scheduled for release on Dec. 15, but there are news claiming that it will come out on Dec. 17 for Ultra Season Pass owners and Dec. 23 for those without the Season Pass.
