'Just Cause 3' update: First gameplay trailer to launch in the coming weeks

The waiting for the very first trailer of the much anticipated third installment of the "Just Cause" series may soon be over, if the post from Avalanche execs will fulfill its promise.

Early in December 2014, Avalanche Studios answered a question post by one of its fans on Twitter if they are planning to release a gameplay trailer for "Just Cause 3." The studio confirmed that they will come up with the trailer early in 2015.

Founder and creative director Christofer Sundberg posted an update regarding the status of the trailer in his own Twitter account, saying: "Soooo... #JustCause3 trailer? Yes! We're working on it and the date is very SOON (like in weeks) I promise. #AvalancheStudios"

This could mean that the trailer for the sequel of the critically acclaimed open world action-adventure game is right around the corner.

Recently, the leaked screenshots for the game showed that character customization and a co-op mode could be featured in the new game. The leaked images showed two characters — the main protagonist Rico Rodriguez and an unidentified individual — driving vehicles during the duration of the gameplay. This led to speculations that Rico will have a companion character in "Just Cause 3" to help him with all his missions.

A description on Wikipedia stated that the upcoming "Just Cause 3" will focus on Rico's adventures in a fictional island in the Mediterranean called Medici where he will face the ruthless dictator, General Di Ravello.

The game developers also discussed the planned size and scope of the upcoming game.

"We really wanted to focus now on density and the feel of the world itself. So we didn't necessarily just have to do increased land mass. But we have certainly gone a lot bigger when it comes to density of the world. And now it's not just on top of the world – we also have caves and tunnels and all sorts of stuff there, too," Sundberg told Game Informer during an interview late last year.

"Just Cause 3" is expected to come out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC editions on June 2015.
