The very first trailer for the new installment of the "Just Cause" series has finally been unveiled before the open-world action adventure game is officially launched this year.

"Just Cause 3's" initial trailer shows a few shots of burning warped rubble and burnt metal that keep on falling to the ground in slow motion. It also features a slower, more subdued version of the song "Firestarter" by The Prodigy.

The video also shows a sleek and shiny silver car that seems to be flying smoothly until it slams onto a concrete wall, which sparks a series of thunderous blasts. A picture of a military figure engulfed in a flag, believed to be the new antagonist in the third installment of the game, is also seen in the 1-minute-50-second trailer video.

Rico Rodriguez, the main hero of the "Just Cause" series, is also featured clearly in the video as he comes flying downward through the air. In the end, he is seen rising above a mountain range as he faces toward the camera.

Game developer Avalanche Studios first confirmed the news that they were developing the third installment of the action adventure game in November last year, saying that they will release it in next-gen console as well as PC editions. Later, several leaked screenshots of the game were seen in different websites online, showing the upcoming game's incredibly breathtaking environment as well as intricately developed graphics in a fictional island in the Mediterranean.

Game director Roland Lesterlin explained the reason why they chose to set the game in this area through an interview with Red Bull, saying: "The Just Cause series has always been a vacation compared to other games, it has really bright colours, that saturated feel, that sense of the crystal blue waters and the green trees and beautiful beaches. We really wanted to keep that vibe, but we had done the jungle twice and a lot of other games had followed suit there."

The game director also said that the wanted to search for a place that can provide "both the beautiful crystal blue waters and that vacation feel, but at the same time have really vertical landscapes. And that's when we ended up with the Mediterranean – which also gives us all of the history of humanity behind it."

"Just Cause 3" will come out during this year's holiday season.
