"Jurassic World Alive," the "Pokémon GO"-style augmented reality (AR) game developed by Ludia in partnership with Universal, is scheduled to release this spring for iOS and Android.

Universal and Ludia announced the news about the release of their third "Jurassic World" mobile game partnership that allows players to interact with dinosaurs with aid of location-based technology and AR on Mar. 7. "Jurassic World Alive" will launch globally on the App Store and Google Play ahead of the release of the upcoming film "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" on June 22.

In "Jurassic World Alive," players take on the role of a new recruit in the Dinosaur Protection Group (DPG). As a member of the organization, players are tasked to save dinosaurs from the possibility of extinction by tracking them, collecting deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) samples and creating new genetically modified dinosaur species in the organization's lab.

Just like "Pokémon GO's" gameplay, players will have to complete their tasks by collecting and hunting for different species of dinosaurs and other creatures featured in "Jurassic World" and "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" by means of exploring the real world. Unlike the popular Pokémon AR, however, players don't always have to walk to find dinosaurs — the game allows players to deploy an in-game drone to locate dinosaurs and collect the much-needed DNA samples. Moreover, collecting DNA samples gives players the ability to level up and create new hybrid species which they can use to compete in a real-time player versus player (PvP) arena battles to earn more rewards.

Interested players may pre-register on this link to receive a free rare incubator once the game officially releases.
