J.A. Bayona will bring the horror back to the "Jurassic World" franchise, reports claim.

Bayona is known for helming the 2007 horror film "The Orphanage" as well as two episodes of the first season of Showtime's horror drama thriller "Penny Dreadful" back in 2014.

According to reports, the Spanish director will bring back the horror elements in the film that was present in the original "Jurassic Park" trilogy.

In the 2015 blockbuster hit "Jurassic World," directed by Colin Trevorrow, the movie geared toward a family-friendly theme despite the chase scenes that happened in the entire movie. With Bayona's participation, fans could expect to see him incorporate the scary elements in the upcoming installments of the dinosaur movie franchise.

Trevorrow will still be part of the "Jurassic World 2" production even if he has left the director's chair. He will write the script together with Derek Connolly.

Meanwhile, the cast and crew are tight-lipped about the plot of the upcoming "Jurassic World" sequel.

In an interview with Cinema Blend back in June, lead star Bryce Dallas Howard revealed how Bayona communicates with the people involved in the movie to prevent leaked information.

"Whenever I have the chance to be around that group, that crew I like get information. [laughter] J.A.'s over in Europe right now, so I haven't seen him in person," the actress said. "I'm sure he wouldn't... because you know what, the emailing and texting, you can't go on record. You can't write anything down, commit to anything in writing. So, tonight I'll just be like, 'Can you verbally explain to me what's happening?' But we'll shoot it next year."

Howard will reprise her role as Jurassic World operations manager Claire Dearing, together with Chris Pratt, who will return as dinosaur trainer Owen Grady.

The "Jurassic World" sequel is expected to premiere on the big screen on June 22, 2018.
