The wait for the highly anticipated sequel to 2015 blockbuster hit "Jurassic World" is starting to intensify as rumors begin to come out online.

While Universal Pictures is still mum about the details regarding the developments of "Jurassic World 2," speculations claim that the movie is now in its early stages of production under its new director, J.A. Bayona. But the filmmaker is reportedly very careful about disseminating information about the film to avoid possible leaks to the media.

Speaking with Cinema Blend back in June, actress Bryce Dallas Howard revealed Bayona's policy whenever they need to talk about the development of the film.

"Whenever I have the chance to be around that group, that crew I like get information. J.A.'s over in Europe right now, so I haven't seen him in person. I'm sure he wouldn't... because you know what, the emailing and texting, you can't go on record," the actress told the publication. "You can't write anything down, commit to anything in writing. So, tonight I'll just be like, 'Can you verbally explain to me what's happening?' But we'll shoot it next year," she added.

While there is no official confirmation of the film's plot for the upcoming sequel, speculations claim that it will have something to do with the cliffhanger at the end of the first movie where Dr. Henry Wu (B.D. Wong) took away several dinosaur embryos from the laboratory on Isla Nublar under the orders of InGen's security head Vic Hoskins (Vincent D'Onofrio). According to reports, the geneticist and Hoskins are plotting to create new species of dinosaurs that can be used as military weapons.

While Bayona may be in charge of directing the "Jurassic World" sequel, the first film's director, Colin Trevorrow, and original series director Steven Spielberg will still be involved in the upcoming film. In an interview with Collider, Spielberg said:

"I was very involved in breaking the story, working on the script with [Trevorrow] and [writer Derek Connolly]. I was not on the set, but I watched dailies every day. If I felt something about the dailies, I would send a note to Colin directly. But Colin was doing a great job; you could tell by the rushes. I didn't even find Colin, Frank did."

"Jurassic World 2" is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 22, 2018.
