Jill and Jessa Counting On new season: renewal of '19 Kids and Counting' spin-off confirmed; Duggars happy

Jill and Jessa: Counting On TLC

The Duggars proudly announced that "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" has been renewed by TLC for a sophomore season.

On the official family blog, the Arkansas-based reality show stars revealed that the network will feature the return of Jill Duggar-Dillard and Jessa Duggar-Seeward in the spin-off series of the now-defunct "19 Kids and Counting."

According to the family, the fans of the show might have missed the announcement since it coincided with the revelation of Jinger Duggar's courtship with Jeremy Vuolo.

Based on the statement on the blog, "Stay tuned for the premiere date to be revealed soon. What are you hoping to see on season two of Counting On? The film crew has been filming during the break, in order to avoid missing out on any exciting footage."

Meanwhile, several speculations about what "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" should tackle when the series returns for season 2 have been going around online.

One of the possible storylines include Jinger's courtship with former soccer star turned Bible preacher, Vuomo. Fans may also see how Jeremy managed to transform his life as a former sinner to become a man of God.

Viewers of the show can also look forward to seeing how Jill, her husband Derick Dillard, and their son David Israel cope  as missionaries in Central America. Also, the second season of "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" is expected to feature some of Jana Duggar's home improvement projects as she helps her sibling Jessa add more lighting in her home.

Another controversial topic that the Duggars must address when their spin-off season returns is the status of the relationship between the eldest Duggar son, Josh, and his wife Anna. The couple went through several controversies in 2015, including Josh's child molestation case involving four of his younger sisters and the infidelity scandal that happened while Anna was pregnant with their fourth child. Did their marriage survive all those storms?

TLC has yet to announce the official premiere date of "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" season 2.
