It may still take a while before Netflix drops the second season of Marvel's "Jessica Jones," but new details about the series' return are starting to be unveiled.

During the Transforming Hollywood 7 event in California, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg revealed that all 13 episodes of Marvel's "Jessica Jones" season 2 will be helmed by female directors. This made the superhero web series one of the very few shows that will be directed entirely by women.

However, the names of the female directors who will work on the show remain under wraps.

Meanwhile, the plot for Marvel's "Jessica Jones" season 2 also remains a mystery. But Rosenberg revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly back in August that she and the writers of the show are also looking forward to seeing if the show will tackle another social issue in the upcoming season. "We're just trying to find some resonance for her character and a new place to push her, to give Krysten [Ritter] something new to play and really push the boundaries of the character," the showrunner stated.

Rosenberg also revealed that they are planning to look deeper into the relationship of Ritter's character, Jessica Jones, and her adoptive sister, Trish Walker (Rachel Taylor). Several speculations claim that there could be a romantic relationship between the two female characters.

But while the showrunner did not confirm if the two would begin dating next season, she revealed that the story about whatever relationship that the two has will be interesting. "To me, it's about their history, and their trust and connection," Rosenberg said.

Other reports about the sophomore season of "Jessica Jones" claimed that it would be interesting to see how the series will move forward after the departure of the series' main antagonist, Kilgrave (David Tennant). According to Rosenberg, there could be more than one villain who will give Jessica a hard time upon her return next season.

Netflix has yet to announce the official premiere date of Marvel's "Jessica Jones" season 2, but the series is expected to return sometime in 2018.
