After making sure that Michael (Brett Dier) is recovering properly from his near-fatal gunshot wounds, life returns to normal in the Villanueva household in the next episode of "Jane the Virgin" season 3.

In the episode directed by Eva Longoria Baston, Jane (Gina Rodriguez) will continue her work for her thesis. But her new idea will make Alba (Ivonne Coll) unhappy because she wants to incorporate her grandmother's estranged sister in her planned narrative. This means that Alba's past will be openly discussed by the family, which she is not entirely comfortable with.

Meanwhile, Jane's father, Rogelio (Jamie Camil), will try his luck to become an American crossover star by presenting his hit telenovela, "Passions of Santos," to The CW so that the network could pick it up. This is his way to compete with his bitter rival, Esteban (Keller Wortham), who is also on his way to become known in the American TV after appearing on an episode of "What's In My Murse?"

But it seems Rogelio's friends will help him in his cause since his best friends Gloria and Emilio Estefan will be there for him.

On the other hand, Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) will contemplate on forgetting about her dream to become a singer to pursue something more practical.

In the second episode of season 3, Xiomara ultimately decided to abort her unwanted pregnancy with Esteban's child. This could be why Xo will now make more mature decisions about what she wants to do in her life.

Another character who is expected to make a choice in the upcoming episode is Rafael's (Justin Baldoni) alcoholic sister, Luisa (Yara Martinez). She had to make a choice between her own family and the love of her life, Rose (Bridget Regan), who also happens to be the dangerous criminal Sin Rostro, the same person who is responsible for shooting Michael. Will she finally let go of Rose?

The third episode of "Jane the Virgin" season 3 will air on Monday, Oct. 31, on The CW.
