It will be a one of a kind Mother's Day celebration for the Villanuevas in the next episode of "Jane the Virgin" season 2.

In the episode called "Chapter Forty-Two," Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is excited to celebrate her first Mother's Day as a mom. But instead of doing the traditional Villanueva festivity, Petra (Yael Grobglas) will invite her, Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Alba (Ivonne Coll) to a brunch instead.

Based on the trailer, the ladies from the Villanueva household are not really up to Petra's plans. However, Jane insists to attend the brunch hosted by Rafael's (Justin Baldoni) ex-wife so they can all start living in peace and harmony.

When Jane, Xo and Alba arrive at Petra's place, the awkwardness begins as the Villanuevas are immediately turned off with the décor of the place. Meanwhile, Petra seems not pleased with the bouquet of flowers that Jane brings for her. The unease between the ladies only disappears when Petra invites everyone for drinks.

The official synopsis for the episode reads:

"The Villanueva women have a tradition for Mother's Day and Jane is excited to get to participate in her first one as a mom. However, their plans are thwarted when Petra invites everyone to a brunch instead. Jane's TA position is put into jeopardy when a mysterious ad appears in the college newspaper. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) is hurt when Dina doesn't invite him to her birthday party, so he asks Jane to help in an unusual way. Rafael finds himself in big trouble thanks to his half-brother. Meanwhile, Xo finds herself in a compromising position."

Meanwhile, the critically acclaimed telenovela-comedy is gearing toward its season 2 finale where the highly anticipated wedding between Jane and Michael (Brett Dier) will take place. According to TVLine, the show is looking for an actor who will portray the role of a priest named Father Felipe.

"Jane the Virgin" season 2 episode 20 airs Monday, May 2, on The CW.
