Things will become even more complicated for Jane and her pregnancy in the upcoming episode of "Jane the Virgin."
In the show's "Chapter 5," Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) will feel fed up by her mother Xo's (Andrea Navedo) constant bickering, so she will decide to move in with her fiancé Michael (Brett Dier). But things will not work according to her plans, so she might have second thoughts about living with Michael after all.
Meanwhile, Jane will try to reestablish her relationship with her famous father Rogelio (Jaime Camil). But her plans will go awry when Rogelio suddenly gets nervous upon meeting her.
Things are not working well either for Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni) and his wife Petra (Yael Grobglas). Their marriage has gone downhill after learning that Jane is carrying Rafael's child because his sister Luisa (Yara Martinez) mistakenly artificially inseminated Jane during her checkup.
"Jane the Virgin" is the newest comedy-drama TV series offered by The CW this season. It is loosely adapted from a Venezuelan telenovela titled "Juana la Virgen."
It tells the story of Jane, a strictly Catholic virgin bride-to-be who accidentally got pregnant when a gynecologist mistakenly gave her an artificial insemination during a routine checkup. She is engaged to her longtime detective boyfriend, but their wedding plans had to be put on hold because she is carrying the child of her boss.
In an interview with People magazine, actress Gina Rodriguez described her character.
"Jane's life becomes that of telenovelas. She just has this now extreme roller coaster of life that's ahead of her," she stated. "I love that Jane is strong. She's independent. She's smart and she makes the unpopular decisions in life. She decides that sex, drugs and rock 'n roll is not the life she wants, and she's not afraid of that. She's not afraid of being different."
"Jane the Virgin" chapter 5 airs Monday, Nov 10, on The CW.
