When the winter premiere of "iZombie" season 2 takes place Tuesday night, Liv will be back in school. As a part of her investigation involving the murder of her favorite actor, she was tasked to masquerade as a student to uncover the mystery.
The episode is called "Method Head" and from the looks of it, not only does Liv pass as a student, but she also gets to be in her favorite show "Zombie High," where her favorite actor (played by Ryan Lane) stars. But on one fateful day on set, Liv's TV hero was killed.
That being said, "too cool for school" student Liv will be on the job. Finding the culprit, however, requires Liv to show her acting chops as she, for some reason, made it to the show. In an "iZombie" season 2, she was seen filming a certain scene for "Zombie High" where she slaps a guy.
Meanwhile, the inclusion of Lane in the upcoming season marks a mini "Veronica Mars" reunion. Apart from Lane, who starred in the cult favorite detective series, Kristen Bell will also make an appearance on the CW zombie series.
It is being said that the "Frozen" star will be doing a voice-over on episode 11 of "iZombie" season 2, which is titled "Fifty Shades of Grey Matter."
The latest "Veronica Mars" alum addition in "iZombie" season 2 is Enrico Colantoni, who was tapped to play the role of a vice detective whose cases almost always have something to do with Liv's personal and professional life.
As the zombie series approaches the latter half of its sophomore run, CW President Mark Pedowitz talked about season 3 renewal. While he did not make it official, he did say that "iZombie" is in a very secure position to dodge the axe.
"It's stronger this year. I think Malcolm [Goodwin], Rose [McIver], [and] Rahul [Kohli] have done a great job in terms of what they're going for," he said (via TV.com). "I think the show has a very good shot at getting a third season. I'm very proud of that show," he added.
"iZombie" season 2 resumes Tuesday night, Jan. 12 at 9 p.m. ET on the CW network. Viewers can also watch the live stream from the CW app.
