Liv (Rose McIvler) suddenly acquires a penchant for guitars and country music in the next episode of "iZombie" season 2.

In the episode titled "Even Cowgirls Get the Black and Blues," Liv, Clive (Malcolm Goodwin), and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) will  investigate the murder of a country-singing waitress who was killed by a mysterious murderer.

Just like what Liv normally does in each investigation, the coroner's assistant who conceals her zombie persona eats the brains of the victim to learn more about the events that led to the crime. Since the deceased was a country musician, Liv acquires the victim's talents and love for country songs.

But can Liv and the Seattle police department catch the perpetrator before it could strike again? Based on the trailer video for the episode, a shadowy figure creeps up to Liv in a parking lot. Liv must take Ravi's words as a caution when he says, "Love and murder – country song staples."

On the other hand, Ravi will be greatly affected by Peyton's (Aly Michalka) return to lead the investigation about the utopium business in Seattle.

In the previous episode, both Ravi and Liv were surprised to see Peyton back in town after she fled last season when she found out that her best friend became a zombie. Liv was naturally upset when Peyton chose to abandon her, but they two eventually managed to patch things up when Peyton became the only one who remembered her birthday when she gave her a cake.

The official synopsis for the episode reads:

"While investigating a case, Liv eats the brains of a country-singing waitress. Detective Babineaux meets a female FBI agent who will be working out of their offices. Blaine (David Anders) tries to entice a former business associate to come back to the dark side. Meanwhile, Peyton's return is messing up Ravi's game, and Major (Robert Buckley) continues his downward spiral."

"iZombie" season 2 episode 4 is slated to air on Tuesday, Oct. 27, on The CW.
