iPod Touch 6th generation rumors: New device coming with other Apple devices this fall

Some tech enthusiasts and music lovers are still looking forward to finding a new media player from Apple, but solid news are still scarce about the existence of the iPod touch 6th generation or any possibility of its release.

The last iPod touch was rolled out two years ago, and nothing has been heard if the Cupertino tech giant is still planning on developing a new version of their popular portable music device with touchscreen. Still, some consumers are not losing hope in finding another music-dedicated product from the iPod line. They would like to see another iPod touch with specs that are better than its predecessor's dual-core A5 chip and 5-megapixel built-in camera.

Although the fifth generation of the iPod touch showed a lot of improvements in its earlier models, sales statistics proved that it performed poorly in the market. Its sales was greatly affected by the release of several smartphones that can perform the tasks of the portable music player.

But rumors die hard, and the latest one claims that the next iPod touch will be released later this year alongside the next iPhone product. If rumors turn out to be true, then the iPod touch 6th generation will come out together with the iPhone 7 or the iPhone 6s in fall, and it will be available in different colors such as silver, pink, orange, red, green, as well as the Apple's signature space grey.

It will also reportedly come with a 5.5-inch screen just like the current iPhone 6 Plus, with a display resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The alleged device is also said to come with an 8-megapixel iSight camera together with a 1.5-megapixel front-facing secondary camera.

If the reports from Day Herald are accurate, then the new generation of the iPod touch will have a tag price just like its predecessor. It means that the 32 GB model will be worth $299, while the 64 GB model will have a price tag of $399.

However, Apple Inc. still has to confirm the reports about the alleged iPod touch 6th generation.
