iPhone 6 Plus delivery delays: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint experience delays

Less than a week after Apple released its latest line of flagship phones, the biggest version of iPhone 6 is already sold out.

As of this writing, several reports have mentioned that the demand for the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus had already surpassed the company's supply after the pre-order option was offered online last Sept. 12 by different American network carriers and the Apple Store.

USA Today pointed out that customers who want to get their hands on the largest iPhone version should wait for several weeks before the new batch of gadgets will start to arrive.  Likewise, the Business Insider stated that the iPhone 6 Plus deliveries will be delayed for another three weeks up to one month before they reach the stores of all mobile network carriers in the U.S. once again.

It means that those who pre-ordered their iPhone 6 Plus units from Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint will have to be patient before getting their new phone.

"Demand for the new iPhones exceeds the initial pre-order supply and while a significant amount will be delivered to customers beginning on Friday and throughout September, many iPhone pre-orders are scheduled to be delivered in October," the Cupertino-based company said in a press release last Monday.

Earlier, The New York Times reported that iPhone 6 made a staggering record of reaching 10 million sales during its first weekend.  Apple CEO Tim Cook expressed his surprise over the new record in a statement.

"Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn't be happier," he said.

However, Cook is also aware that the company needs to address the order backlogs and supply shortage for their new phones.

"While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible," the CEO said.

The delay in the deliveries of iPhone 6 Plus is actually expected, according to Business Insider, since reports already surfaced about its production issues even before the phones were released to the public last Sept. 19.
