iPad Air 3, iPad Mini 4 release news: no Air 3 in 2015, iPad Mini 4 to be Apple's last small tablet?

Will Apple still release the successor of iPad Air 2? Apple

If the latest rumors turn out to be accurate, then Apple might not release a new iPad Air anytime soon. MacRumors spotted several speculations posted by foreign tech news sites claiming that Apple is not planning to launch the next iPad Air this year.

In an interview with Chinese website Economic Daily News, Fubon Hardware investment advisor Liaoxian Li stated that Apple will halt production of a new iPad Air until next year. He said the American tech firm would like to focus on their latest iPad Pro product. The iPad Pro will be Apple's first venture into large-display tablets since it is said to come with a 12.9-inch screen. It is also expected to match Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 with its laptop/ tablet capacities.

Foxconn, the main Apple-commissioned assembly plant for the larger tablet device, was reportedly ordered to concentrate on manufacturing the product to make sure that the maximum deployment capacity will be reached. Foxconn was also tasked to create the iPad mini 4, which, according to rumors, is scheduled to be released alongside the iPad Pro.

The report also claims that Apple is planning to make the next-generation iPad mini the last release for the product line since the tech firm is planning to shift their concentration to the two larger iPads that they are planning to release in the future.

The iPad mini 4 is said to come with a 7.9-inch display. But aside from the rumored rear shell cover that it will come out with, the next-generation iPad mini will only feature upgraded specs from the previous editions of the device.

Both the iPad Pro and iPad mini 4 will allegedly come out before the holidays this year.

However, these reports are unconfirmed by Apple, which means that they should be taken with a grain of salt.
