It seems like Apple is struggling to keep its tablet line afloat after launching the iPad mini 3 and the iPad Air 2 last year, which, presumably, is why the tech giant is aiming to make a big comeback with the help of the long awaited iPad Pro. The rumors about the alleged 12.9-inch iPad Pro have been going around since the second half of 2014, but the device is expected to be in production in the coming months.
The iPad Pro, also referred to as the iPad Air Plus or iPad Plus, is reportedly equipped with a 2K resolution display that has an overall dimension of 305.31 mm x 220.8 mm x 7 mm. It has a 6.9 mm up to 7 mm thin body, and weighs at least 700 grams. Apple's upcoming slate is said to have the latest A9 processor, which happens to be the successor of iPad Air 2's current A8X processor. But one of its most notable upgrade is the dual speakers that are located at the top and bottom of the device.
Also, a report that was released in the middle of January mentioned that Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities unveiled the Cupertino tech giant's plan to release a stylus pen with the iPad Pro.
"Given that it's more precise than a person's fingers, a stylus can be more convenient to use than the combination of keyboard and mouse in some cases," Kuo shared, as quoted by Apple Insider. "Therefore, we believe Apple's stylus will improve the user experience of 12.9-inch iPad."
However, the gadget analyst also noted that since not everyone will find the use of the stylus as a necessity in an iPad device, the tech firm may just launch it as an optional accessory.
"Coupled with its unfavorable cost structure, high selling prices may turn consumers off if the 12.9-inch iPad is always bundled with it. We therefore expect the stylus to be an optional accessory before sufficient user feedback is received," Kuo said.
Over the weekend, alleged leaked images of the iPad Pro were posted by vandaagapple.nl. However, 9to5mac warned that the so-called iPad Pro images could be fake since it looks different from the description of the upcoming Apple device.
The iPad Pro is expected to be released in the second half of 2015.
