The next iPad Pro refresh might be just around the corner, as evidenced by Apple obtaining a certification for its upcoming iPad tablets in parts of Asia and Europe. With this, the iPad Pro 3 2018 is expected to be unveiled at a keynote event this March. Also, the high-end tablet is likely to adopt the groundbreaking features of the 2017 Apple flagship handset, the iPhone X, specifically the Face ID technology.

According to MacRumors, the Eurasian Economic Commission already approved Apple's registration for the next batch of iPads coming this year. With the next-gen iPad Pro already certified, it is possible that the launch event will happen very soon. It can be recalled that the Cupertino-based tech giant once had a hardware event set in March, and the same thing could also happen this year with the unveiling of the iPad Pro 3 2018.

As for the new features of the iPad Pro 3 2018, it is speculated that Apple is up for a major design overhaul of the current iPad Pro hardware. Recent reports hint that the company is set to revolutionize the upcoming iPad Pro, just like what it did with the iPhone X. It is expected that the latest iPad Pro will ditch the classic appearance of the iPad series by going for slimmer bezels on the top and bottom display to achieve an all-screen front display.

If the spotted line of code in the iOS 11.3 beta is any indication, the iPad Pro 3 2018 will follow the footsteps of the iPhone X. The code describes the upcoming iPad Pro tablet as the "modern iPad," similar to how Apple introduced the 2017 flagship handset as the "modern iPhone." Aside from a full view display, the iPad Pro 3 2018 is likely to have the Face ID system that will permanently replace the more traditional Touch ID method.

Due to the 3D full facial-scanning technology to be introduced in the iPad Pro 3 2018, the tablet is also expected to sport the iPhone X's signature notch area at the top portion. However, the scope of the notch might be smaller compared to that of the iPhone X, given that Apple is reportedly looking for ways to improve the TrueDepth camera technology, thus lessening the components of the notch.
