iPad Mini 4 specs and release rumors: New tablet launch next month?

The iPad Mini 3. Rumors say that its successor will be unveiled some time in the middle of this year. Apple.com

Another rumored device from the Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to come out this year. According to reports, the next-generation iPad mini is being developed by Apple Inc., and it will come with either the latest Apple A9 or the earlier A8 processor.

The iPad mini 4 will allegedly come with a 2 GB RAM, as well as 802.11 ac Wi-Fi support, known as current Wi-Fi standard in the market today. It will reportedly offer up to 1733 Mbps of wireless Internet connection that can work on a 5 GHz frequency band.

Still, the details about the alleged iPad mini 4 are limited at this point, especially about the product design. However, it is expected to take on the design of the iPad Air 2, which happens to be the second-thinnest tablet in the world because of its 6.1 mm thinness.

The iPad mini 4 will be the successor of the iPad mini 3. Released in October last year, the iPad mini 3 failed to meet expectations because Apple chose to develop it with the old A7 processor just like the iPad mini 2. It means that most of its internal features are the same as its predecessor, and only the Touch ID and the gold color option were added to say that the device got an upgrade.

Christian Post claimed that the new iPad mini 4 will be announced by Apple in April, and consumers worldwide will be able to find it in stores by September or October, yet the tech company is currently still mum about the validity of these reports.

At this time, Apple's verified upcoming releases include the Apple Watch, the MacBook 2015, as well as the improved versions of the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro. There's no word yet if the iPad mini 4 will come out with other rumored Apple devices like the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 7 before the year ends.
